We have had a busy start to the new year.
Miss Mackin, Mr Totten and I were delighted to meet with so many parents at our Information afternoons. It was great to put faces to the names.
As part of our Literacy we studied Narrative Writing. We read The Three Little Pigs and as part of our Activity Based Learning [ABL] the children got to make masks and houses. They used these in their role play to retell the story.
At the end of September we had a very busy week. On the Monday P4's visited Lisburn Library. The children had a great time finding out all the things the library has to offer and reading some books. Have you joined the library yet?
On the Wednesday the class visited the Tesco Store on Bentrim Road. Mrs Broome gave the children a budget of £12 to buy a healthy lunch for a family of 4. The groups choose some really healthy options and all stayed within budget. They also got the opportunity to scan the items through the till.
On Friday we took part in out charity sponsored walk to Wallace Park. We enjoyed the park and collected leaves and conkers, saw a squirrel as well as raising money for The Children's Hospice.
We finished the term by making some pumpkin soup and carving the pumpkin into a lantern. The Halloween Disco was a great success. Can you tell who is behind the costume.
